The first race began at 1 PM Beijing time, with Wei Lu and Stephen Hong taking the first stint for their respective teams. Unfortunately, car #6 driven by Wei Lu encountered an incident at the start, dropping to the back of the field. Meanwhile, Stephen Hong reacted swiftly at the start, advancing to second place in the Am category.
After the collision, Wei Lu quickly regained his composure and launched a determined pursuit, climbing to third place in the Pro-Am category by the ninth lap. Meanwhile, light rain added an element of unpredictability to the race.
When the pit window opened, the team opted to extend the driving time of the starting drivers, delaying their pit stops. As the rain eased, the team decided to continue on slick tires. After the pit stops, Kaishun Liu, now driving car #6, stabilized in third place in the Pro-Am category, while Harry He in car #77 held third in the Am category.
In the final 10 minutes of the race, Kaishun Liu closed the gap to the car ahead with his strong pace over long distances. Harry He remained steady, securing fourth place in the Am category.
As the checkered flag waved, car #6, driven by Wei Lu and Kaishun Liu, crossed the finish line in third place in the Pro-Am category, overcoming the early race collision and maintaining Madness Racing's streak of podium finishes. Car #77 finished fourth in the Am category, with Stephen Hong and Harry He delivering a stable performance, continuing to score valuable points for the team.
On Sunday, the second race of the Fuji round will take place, with Madness Racing Team's car #6 starting from second in the Pro-Am category and car #77 starting from seventh in the Am category.
