Lamborghini Super Trofeo 2024 - Round 6 Jerez Race 2

On November 15, the annual finale of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Cup Asia 2024 came to an end at the Jerez circuit in Spain. Madness Racing Team competed in the final round of the season in the best condition. The No. 277 car crew won the runner-up in the class with excellent tacit understanding between Harry He and Stephen Hong, tying the best record of the season; the No. 288 car crew Andre Couto and Francis Chen (formerly: Jason) were on the starting line. Although he was in the back position, he fought hard to chase forward and won the runner-up in the Pro-Am category. He was also crowned the annual overall champion of the category!

The second round of the race will officially start at 9:00 a.m. local time. Madness Racing’s two Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 cars will start second in the Pro-Am class and fifth in the Am class respectively. Since it is early winter at this time and the track surface temperature is less than 20 degrees Celsius, it will be extremely difficult for the tires to heat up, which will bring a lot of challenges to the drivers.

At the beginning of the race, Harry He, the starting driver of the No. 277 car group, performed steadily and maintained the top five rankings in the group. Francs Chen, who was at the back of the starting grid, successfully completed the start and continued to look for room to improve his position. In the early stages of the race, Francis Chen was already among the top ten in the race and ranked third in the Pro-Am category.

About 10 minutes into the race, a track accident occurred. A car crashed into the gravel area, triggering the safety car. Francis Chen and Harry He also took this opportunity to narrow the gap with their competitors ahead.

Nearing the halfway point of the race, Francis Chen took a step further and reached second place in the Pro-Am category, setting a new personal best lap with 2:02.549. Harry He played steadily with excellent long-distance rhythm and maintained the fourth position in the group.

After the pit stop window opened, the team quickly recalled two cars to make a mandatory stop. The No. 288 car crew improved its position with its efficient pit stop work. Andre Couto reached the leading position in the class after exiting the pit. After taking over the car, Stephen Hong pushed forward with all his strength, and successfully overtook the car in front in the last 20 minutes of the race, rising to ninth in the race and third in the class.

In the second half of the race, Andre Couto was fiercely attacked by opponents from behind. The No. 288 car crew once lost its position. However, this powerful veteran performed well and ranked fifth in the race with excellent race speed. Stephen Hong made great progress and was promoted to second place in the group at the end of the competition.

With the waving of the checkered flag, the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Challenge season came to an end. Andre Couto crossed the finish line in third place in the Pro-Am category, and together with Francis Chen ended the season in third place in the category. At the same time, the two drivers of the No. 288 car group were crowned the annual champions of the Pro-Am class with the points gained!

For the No. 277 car crew, Harry He and Stephen Hong finished the race in sixth place, and together they took home the second place in the Am category, tying the best record of the season, and also successfully won the third place in the Super Trofeo 2024 Am category!
