Lamborghini Super Trofeo 2024 – Round 4 Fuji Race 2

On August 18, the fourth round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Challenge successfully concluded at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. Madness Racing Team finished their journey in Japan with a strong performance, as car No. 6, driven by Wei Lu and Kaishun Liu, secured the Pro-Am category championship, bringing home their sixth class victory of the season! Car No. 77, driven by Harry He and Stephen Hong, showed solid performance, climbing up to sixth place in their class after starting from a lower grid position.

Sunday's race at the Fuji Speedway brought clear skies, a sharp contrast to the rain of the previous two days, setting the stage for a thrilling second-round race. As the five red lights on the gantry extinguished, 23 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 cars accelerated towards Turn 1, marking the start of the main race!

Kaishun Liu in car No. 6 had a quick start, overtaking the cars ahead and moving up to the lead position in the Pro-Am category. Harry He in car No. 77 also had a smooth start, maintaining his class position. However, in the second lap, car No. 77 had an unfortunate collision with car No. 56 during a battle for position, causing a drop in their ranking.

Despite this setback, Kaishun Liu, driving car No. 6, showed excellent long-distance race speed, steadily closing in on cars in the higher class, eventually moving up to third place overall. Meanwhile, Harry He recovered from the early incident, gradually climbing back up in the rankings with consistent speed.

As the pit window opened halfway through the race, the team quickly reacted, calling in both car No. 6 and car No. 77 for driver changes. Wei Lu and Stephen Hong took over the driving duties for the second half of the race. After exiting the pits, Wei Lu maintained third place overall and continued to closely chase the Pro class competitors. Stephen Hong, on the other hand, reduced the gap with his rivals by nearly 0.5 seconds per lap.

As the race neared its end, Wei Lu in car No. 6 held onto the lead in the Pro-Am category, while Stephen Hong capitalized on the battles among the cars ahead to move car No. 77 up to sixth place in their class.

Ultimately, car No. 6 was the first to cross the finish line, winning the Pro-Am category. This was only the second race for the duo of Wei Lu and Kaishun Liu, yet they managed to claim a class victory and stand on the top step of the podium! Despite facing tough challenges, including an unfavorable starting position and an early incident, Stephen Hong and Harry He in car No. 77 finished sixth in the Am category, thanks to their steady performance.

With the conclusion of the Japanese round at Fuji, Madness Racing once again reaped impressive results. From September 13 to 15, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Challenge will head to the Shanghai International Circuit for the final round of the Asia series, where the team will enjoy a home advantage. Let's wish the team continued success in the Shanghai round in September!
